Welcome back to the cafe!!!
I don't know how to add posts to pages so I'm just updating this cafe page as we go lol. Annyywwayyyssss, I'm in Florida now & there's a really cute cafe in the small town my parents live in so that's where all these coffees are from. I had my first PSL of the year & it was soooooo delicious! Dare I say, even better than a Starbucks PSL? And I added marshmallow cold foam to it (my sister put me on). The coffees up top were for me, my sister, my brother, & my mom, the salted maple butter latte was mine & that was so scrumptious as well!
I haven't been reading as much as I used to but I did finish Ender's Game & it was so much fun re-reading this! As a kid I don't think this book made me as sad as it did now. Ender is such a beautiful character & in between him being this "genius kid destined to save the world" we get glimpses of him just being a little boy & it's incredibly gut wrenching. I think I may continue with this series. I'm not sure if this is still required reading in school but if you did read this as a child, I highly recommend re-reading it! Now, I am being very vulnerable in sharing my current read. I know in our last chat here in the cafe I listed The Dalergut Dream Department Store as my next read but I didn't bring that with me to Florida & my FYP on TikTok has been full of The Punisher since he was in the new Spiderman movie. I have returned to my fanfic roots with this Wattpad fanfic. Honestly, I don't know much about Frank Castle (my boyfriend really enjoyed the Punisher butI feel like it would make me too sad so I've chosen not to watch it for now) so I'm not sure if this is something I'm going to continue or finish reading. I just think a romance written with a morally grey vigilante is such a fun concept! Like he's been through so much & is closed off but is soft for her, that's a cute trope. I do love the vibe of this story so far, it's a dark romance about a scientist who has to go into hiding & Frank is her bodyguard. Again I'm going to be vulnerable with you guys, I used to love dark romance but the genre is so saturated with adult scenes (which I no longer read) & a lot of the books tend to feel more spice & less plot, almost like the book was written solely for spice content so I had to move away from this genre. It just isn't my cup of tea, I think you can have morally grey characters & a dark vibe & tension without spice (that's not a judgment or condemnation of anyone who does enjoy that, I just don't). I'm hoping this fic is closed door or there are just no steamy scenes, I know this isn't a popular thing to hope for lol. What have you been reading?

Welcome back to the cafe! Can I interest you in one of my coffees from this weekend? I had a latte with cookie butter cold foam on Saturday (used a chiaro Nespresso pod & the chobani cookie butter creamer) & on the way home from church Sunday I had a Salted Brown Butter Oat Draft Latte.
